Welcome to Cat Trap Textiles!

Hello! My name is Aubrey McCardell. I’ve been a crafter all my life, but I started quilting in 2017 and since then have found my passion as a sewist of many things. I’ve made dozens of quilts, dabbled in making my own garments, and have recently discovered bag-making. I love putting my skills to use making pieces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. I focus on creating well-made, beautiful things you can use in your everyday life that will stand the test of time. My most recent projects have been a Halloween costume and a little jacket for my new baby.

The cat you see in my logo is based on my long-haired Tortie, Bean (Vanilla Bean “No” is her government name) who loves to help by coming into the studio to scream for attention and then lay down on whatever I’m working on. My other cat, Whiskey also assists with testing quilts and is much less likely to scream at me.
